OZUROX 500 Tablets

Description

OZUROX is a second-generation cephalosporin antibiotic containing Cefuroxime Axetil, formulated for the effective treatment of a wide range of bacterial infections. It is highly active against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative organisms, including beta-lactamase-producing strains, ensuring reliable clinical efficacy in resistant infections.

Composition

Each film-coated tablet contains:

• Cefuroxime (as Cefuroxime Axetil) …… 250 mg / 500 mg
• Excipients …… q.s.

Dosage & Administration

• Adults:
  • 250 mg or 500 mg twice daily, depending on severity of infection.
• Children: Dose to be determined by the physician based on body weight and infection severity.
• Tablets should be taken after meals to improve absorption.
• Complete the full prescribed course to prevent resistance.

Indications

OZUROX is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible organisms, including:

• Upper and lower respiratory tract infections
• Urinary tract infections
• Bacterial meningitis
• Bone and joint infections
• Gynecological infections
• Skin and soft tissue infections
• Post-surgical infections

Contra-Indications

• Known hypersensitivity to cefuroxime, cephalosporins, or beta-lactam antibiotics
• History of severe allergic reactions to penicillins

Precautions

• Use with caution in patients with renal impairment; dose adjustment may be required
• Monitor for signs of hypersensitivity reactions
• Prolonged use may lead to superinfection
• Use during pregnancy and lactation only under medical supervision
