OZUROX 500 Tablets
Description
OZUROX is a second-generation cephalosporin antibiotic containing Cefuroxime Axetil, formulated for the effective treatment of a wide range of bacterial infections. It is highly active against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative organisms, including beta-lactamase-producing strains, ensuring reliable clinical efficacy in resistant infections.
Composition
Each film-coated tablet contains:
- Cefuroxime (as Cefuroxime Axetil) …… 250 mg / 500 mg
- Excipients …… q.s.
Dosage & Administration
- Adults:
- 250 mg or 500 mg twice daily, depending on severity of infection.
- Children: Dose to be determined by the physician based on body weight and infection severity.
- Tablets should be taken after meals to improve absorption.
- Complete the full prescribed course to prevent resistance.
Indications
OZUROX is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible organisms, including:
- Upper and lower respiratory tract infections
- Urinary tract infections
- Bacterial meningitis
- Bone and joint infections
- Gynecological infections
- Skin and soft tissue infections
- Post-surgical infections
Contra-Indications
- Known hypersensitivity to cefuroxime, cephalosporins, or beta-lactam antibiotics
- History of severe allergic reactions to penicillins
Precautions
- Use with caution in patients with renal impairment; dose adjustment may be required
- Monitor for signs of hypersensitivity reactions
- Prolonged use may lead to superinfection
- Use during pregnancy and lactation only under medical supervision
